21st Century Thinking Dwelling

Low - mid-income housing design in Larkin Perdana, Johor.
If people are made differently, then why are there so less room of creativity in the interiority of mass housing?
The idea of mass housing in principle is simple. It is either one provides the same units design for all but it caters for changes and freedom to cultural expression, or one provides variety in unit types.
But the question is, even though when there is variety in unit types, does the interiority cater for changes and cultural expression for end users?
Say there are a hundred types within a residential development, but still, one family is going to have only one unit type in one time anyway.
And how does the sense of place, a home can be achieved through architecture?

'A building sits humbly with four stories above the ground, another three below makes no finite statement in form, but an entire creative framework left for user's cultural development and expression.'
The thought behind 'thinking dwelling' is that an interiority of architecture of mass housing which will affect user by putting them into a conscious thinking mode, they question and therefore they participate with the environment through their cultural development and a way of responding towards the heterogeneity and ever diverse culture of people.
They think, they build, therefore they dwell.
By leaving services core for kitchen and laundry in the middle, four other generic cores for an almost infinite of choice and freedom of cultural expression.
A thinking environment is a contradicting space.
A difference in volumetric spaces affects user and lead them into decision making along with their culture which is in principle diverse.
Big spaces are in principle airy while smaller spaces are tide and intimate, they cater for different uses as one might use bigger space as working space while smaller as sleeping as the ceiling is lowered and vise verse. Spatial configuration, form, and technical mean are the keys to foster an infinite way of interpreting the way of life within a house, and the adjacency of big and small spaces formed by a series of intermediate spaces further reinforce the concept.
Permutation within the interior is almost infinite, making the building a section and elevation of a cultural landscape.
In thinking dwelling, people are treated as distinctive individuals.
It serves no foundation for the future to build higher, but rather to build underground in such a way that there are three stories reasonable walk-up and walk down.
Fire stairs were drawn outside as exterior stairs to invite a varied intensity of face to face interaction in building strong neighborliness.
The significant of 80 units being together is that they form raised floor and lowered ceiling to each other, and all units play role in surveying life on either street or communal and common area, rather than living high up above the ground which has literally no interaction with the rest.
Elders and kids would not be able to travel by foot high up to 8 stories when lift breaks down.
And it marks the end of gated community concept in Malaysia when rape cases did by security guards, while firemen were not able to access into the site due to the closed boom gate.
Housing is not a safe place anymore, a complete loss of sense of place. These contexts were literally translated into the idea of rethinking the low-mid income housing that a commercial area is sandwiched in between private units in so to bring in public human density.
Corners are filled with restaurant, praying area, and gym for surveillance over a long hour, so that people who use the parking area, go to work early and come back late from work would be safe.
There is no such hiding spaces, even the lift core is partly transparent.
As one travel across the common heart of the site which is a recreational loop, one discovers series of play and rest spaces by walking on ramps.
Ramps, in this case, is another 'affect' that during the transition between levels, unlike walking on stair steps, one may observe surrounding as it caters for recreational purposes.
The entire journey down to retention pond is prolonged so that they are being 'watched' by the private residence in a distance which conceptually, the layered spaces become more and more private as one move downwards.
The private answering public question, overlooking common areas to avoid the tendency of vandalism over common areas.
Private porch like those in terrace houses, around corridors, is another key element in thinking dwelling.
It is formed in such a way that it pairs the intermediate spaces and become a rectangular space, completely blurring the edge of the horizontal movement.
Life is drawn out to the porch, indoor and outdoor is articulated that a corridor is no more a dead space but a social space.
Ownership exerted all over the porch, planting, laundry, seating area, the entire composition is a production from the diverse culture of users.
